The Sacramental Community Church

Planting Faithful, Spirit-Led Communities

Building Sacramental Community Churches

Rooted In Mission & Worship

The mission of The Sacramental Community Church is to cultivate sustainable, mission-driven faith communities that embody sacramental worship, radical discipleship, and deep engagement with local culture. Each church plant is formed intentionally, led by trained clergy and lay leaders, and nurtured through spiritual formation and mentorship to ensure long-term health and vitality.
Rather than enforcing a rigid framework, each Sacramental Community Church embraces a unique identity, reflecting the Christian traditions of its local context while remaining united in sacramental life. Whether through Anglo-Catholic liturgies, Celtic spirituality, charismatic worship, or monastic simplicity, each church plant honors the sacraments, focusing upon the Holy Eucharist, while fostering spiritual renewal.

The Journey of Church Planting & Development

Each Sacramental Community Church follows a thoughtful, structured process as it moves from vision to thriving worshiping community. Church planting is rooted in discernment, formation, and multiplication, ensuring that each new congregation becomes a catalyst for further growth.

Three Core Phases of Church Planting:

Discernment & Leadership Authorization
  • Begins with prayer, conversation, and discernment with seasoned mentors and church planters.
  • Prospective ministry leaders submit a Discernment & Ministry Proposal outlining their vision.
  • Leaders enter the Minor Orders, preparing for sacramental leadership through structured training.
  • Official authorization is granted by the Sacramental Community of the Coworkers of Christ General Council, ensuring proper mentorship, education, training, and support.
  • Leaders train in sacramental theology, biblical justice, and worship leadership, laying the foundation for their church plant.
Formation: Building & Developing the Church Plant
  • Over one to three years, the church plant transitions from core team formation to full public worship.
  • Leaders progress into Holy Orders, receiving theological education and sacramental formation.
  • Church planters develop small-group ministries, worship services, and local outreach initiatives.
  • Congregations choose liturgical formats suited to their community: high church, contemplative, charismatic, or monastic worship.
  • The church develops a strong sacramental identity, ensuring spiritual depth and mission-focused growth.
Multiplication & Affiliation with the Sacramental Community Church
  • Each church plant is trained to multiply, planting new micro-churches within two years.
  • Churches meet affiliation criteria, ensuring alignment with sacramental worship, Christian justice, and discipleship.
  • Each congregation establishes its own leadership structure, while remaining connected to the broader Sacramental Community of the Coworkers of Christ.
  • Affiliated churches support new planters, mentor leaders, and expand sacramental outreach worldwide.
  • Each Sacramental Community Church becomes a multiplying movement, sending leaders and mission teams into new communities.
